Spindle Repairs

Reconditioning of a spindle beings with a visual inspection and total indication run-out. Then we disassemble it, inspect and Magnaflux for cracks all internal parts including the bearings, bearing surfaces, taper, Bellville, washers, seals and seal areas. We grind the bearing surfaces and taper and apply hard chrome to these areas. Then these areas are finish ground to original specifications. Chrome is a harder substance than is usually used in machine steel (72 Rockwell on a C scale as opposed to approximately 48-50 Rockwell) giving you a longer lasting bearing and machine surface and thereby reducing wear. This will also extend the life of your live tooling. Then the spindle is reassembled with new bearing and Bellville washers, replacing any other worn internal parts as necessary, and the unit is tested.

Machining Capabilities

SIR has complete machine shop facilities, such as complete grinding (OD and ID), horizontal and vertical milling, large capacity lathese, boring, spline and hear hobbing and all types of welding on ferrous and non-ferrous metals.

I would like to thank you for your time and interest and we look forward to working with your company in the near future.

Understanding the Role of Spindles in CNC Machines

Significance of Spindles in CNC Machinery

Spindles are the heart of CNC machines, responsible for holding and rotating the cutting tools used in machining operations. Their high-speed rotation and precision directly impact the quality and efficiency of your CNC machining. Consequently, when a spindle fails or becomes damaged, it’s crucial to have a reliable Spindle Repair service on call.

Why Spindle Repair Is Essential

Over time, spindles can wear out or become damaged due to various factors, such as heat, contamination, or overuse. This can result in decreased machining accuracy, reduced operational efficiency, and in some cases, complete machine downtime. Therefore, timely and professional Spindle Repair is a vital aspect of maintaining your CNC machinery’s productivity and longevity.

Our Comprehensive Spindle Repair Process

At Service Industrial Rebuilders, we have designed our Spindle Repair process to be exhaustive and meticulous, ensuring that every spindle we restore achieves optimal functionality.

Initial Evaluation and Diagnosis

The first step in our Spindle Repair process involves a detailed evaluation of the damaged spindle. We perform a comprehensive diagnosis to identify the root cause of the problem, utilizing advanced diagnostic tools to ensure accuracy.

Complete Repair and Restoration

Once the issue is identified, our expert technicians proceed with the Spindle Repair. This could involve replacing worn bearings, correcting spindle alignment, or even a complete spindle rebuild, depending on the extent of the damage.

Final Testing and Quality Control

After the repair, we carry out rigorous testing to verify the spindle’s functionality and performance. We adhere to strict quality control standards, ensuring that our Spindle Repair services always meet or exceed Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specifications.
